Carlton Fun Days
June 26, 2020 @ 8:00 am - June 27, 2020 @ 5:00 pm
CANCELLED Due To COVID-19
In the early 1900’s Carlton had a multi-day Fourth of July celebration that included a parade. Early accounts and limited photos lead us to believe that this went on for a few decades. In the 1940’s the festival had become known as the Tulip Festival. This festival had a parade with floats representing 34 businesses and entries from local children. This event took place annually and in the 1960’s became know as Fun Days. The celebration always had a parade and ended in the park with booths and games. In the past there has been a firemen’s water brigade, rubber duck races, softball tournament, chili cookoff, photo contests and youth entries for “My future Vision of Carlton”.
Many years ago the Carlton Community Foundation took over the funding portion of this festival and today’s Fun Days is run by a small dedicated group of volunteers. In 2014 the festival was moved from Lower Wennerberg Park to the central location of Upper Ladd Park in town. A beer garden and live music were added. Fun Days is always open to suggestions, ideas and volunteers as this is Carlton’s party and it is for the community to enjoy!
